The purpose of wearing a Tallit is to fulfill the Torah requirement of wearing Tzit Tzit to remember the Mitzvoth of YHWH, B'midbar 15. The Tallit has four KANAPH (wings or corners), the Tzit Tzit are tied to the FOUR KANAPH WINGS of the Tallit.  Just as a bird stretches out it's wings to ride on the Ruach (wind), just as Tzit Tzit are supported on four wings of our garments so is Torah written and established in our hearts by the Ruach HaKodesh.  We daily remember Yeshua as the Living Torah, the Tzit Tzit are an outward reminder of our inward walk in Him.  Adon Yeshua taught us to train our eyes so our hearts would not wander away from righteousness.  The number 4 is significant in that the 4th letter of Hebrew, Dalet is a Door, the letter also represents selflessness.  Yeshua is the Door to Life who emptied Himself so we could enter into life.  Shema Mitzvoth, Observe the Commandments (Directions) of YHWH.  Yeshua is the Perfect Lamb who gave of Himself with no reservation, His desire is to gather all souls unto Himself as a hen gathers her young under her wings.

Blessed are You, O YHWH our Elohim,

Ruler of the Universe, who makes us holy with commandments, and has commanded us to wrap ourselves with tzit tzit.

Speak to the children (b’nai) of Yisrael, and you shall say to them to make tzittziot on the corners (kanaf) of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue (tekelet) cord (patiyl) in the tzittzit of the corners." Bemidbar (Numbers) 15:38 The Scriptures

Make tassels (gedalim) on the FOUR CORNERS (kanaf) of the garment with which you cover yourself." Devarim (Deut.) 22:12 The ScripturesCovering Yourself (YAHWEH) with light as with a garment…" Tehillim (Psalm) 104:2a

The Four Corners (kanaf) and the Living Creatures (Chayot)

Scripture tells us that the tallit is to have four corners on it, so we know it has to be a square or rectangular piece of cloth (wool or linen) with the tzittzit attached to the four corners (with a cord of blue in them). The tzittzit are to be tied in a chainlike (gedalim) manner consisting of knots and windings. The pattern is NOT given in the Torah but comes from rabbinical tradition. There are several ways of tying the tied with knots like a "chain" and have a cord or ribbon of blue (techlet) in them. But, the traditional way of tying them does teach us many truths concerning the Name of Yahweh and the Torah. For example the 39 windings teach us "Yahweh Echad" through the gemetria of Yahweh=26 Echad=13 /26+13=39! The first three groups of windings (7+8+11=26) give us the gemetria of YAHWEH! The last group of 13 windings is equal to ECHAD. ECHAD is the ALEF – CHET- DALET.Alef=1 the tallit, the Chet=8 the eight strings (four doubled) and the Dalet=4 alluding to the FOUR CORNERS of the tallit! The 4 tzittzit have 8 strings or a total of 32.The number 32 is written in Hebrew as LV or LEV=heart in English!
